PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS:
I. Could not start War3.exe and need CD crack!! Make sure the loader is in your Warcraft III:

II. Installpath/path not recognized error:
Solution:
Visit http://maged.lordaeron.org/WC3InstallPath.php
Type your warcraftIII directory into the text box.
Click generate and run the .reg files
Run the patch.
III. Unable to patch file BNUpdate.exe
Solution:
1. Navigate to your Warcraft III directory (For me this is C:/Program Files/Warcraft III)
2. Rename BNUpdate.exe to BNUpdate.bak
3. Rename patch.txt (if it exists) to patch.bak
4. Run the patch again
5. If it is successful, delete BNUpdate.bak and patch.bak
IV. Unable to patch file War3.exe
Solution:
1. Navigate to your Warcraft III directory (For me this is C:/Program Files/Warcraft III)
2. Rename War3.exe to War3.bak
3. Rename patch.txt (if it exists) to patch.bak
4. Run the patch again
5. If it is successful, delete BNUpdate.bak and patch.bak
V. Unable to apply patch to file 'UI\SoundInfo\DialogSounds.slk'
This error pop up whenever you try to apply patches 1 by one! blizzard released lot of small updates witch mostly are useless!
Solution is simple:
ALWAYS USE UNIVERSAL 1.22 PATCH to patch your game.
reinstall the game and use patch at above.

hi guys i have a error:
when i try to update my warcraft III tft from 1.07 (i have reinstalled it recently) to 1.22 from b.net the download stops at 98%.
If i try to download from b.net site i have this prepatch log:

Sounds like corruption in the MPQ File. Try to uninstall / delete WC3 folder and reinstall.
or try this
1. Open WC3
2. Click On Options.
3. Change your "Sound Provider" to Dolby Surround

The file could not be patched because it does not match the file checksum. File name is UI/SoundInfo/DialogueSounds/slk
Solution is simple :

My problem is saying unable to validate game version, please reconnect to battle.net.
I have installed the game with a valid cd key, however my disks were so scratched up they wouldn't work. So i downloaded the game and installed it after I mounted iso files.
Should it not work with a valid cd key?.
Also i try to install the patch and it also isn't working for me i don't remember what it said I have to reinstall the game again in hopes that it will work. Something along the lines of error with war3.mpq.
Any one know about any of these two things?
i recently formatted and reinstalled windows.
After installing warcraft3 again i have same problem it goes live at 1st try but then when u close the game and try to get in back to battle.net it sais: unable to validate game version, please reconnect to battle.net etc etc
I installed "vcredist_x86" afterwards but didnt run either.
Then i installed "WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86" and had an error about a .dll or something off course didnt work either and now my windows broke down :S
every time i turn on my computer i have an explorer.exe error so i cannot start windows normally.
Only way to get in is to "alt+ctrl+del" log off and then log back in...

Hi, everytime I had joined a custom game it would say "My connection to battle.net has been disconnected" It had happened 30 times now I change account and everything I had download your patch! it would allow me to go on chat rooms but unable to play custom games? what is the problem!! for manually updating you have to run regedit. this is for those who do not have orignal w3 and cant update their w3.
click on start>run
type regedit
in regedit>HKEY_CURRENT_USER>software>blizzard entertainment>warcraft3
right click warcraft3>new>string value
type in InstallPath.
double click it in rightside window and enter string value. it is the path of your warcraft 3 folder. example:C:\Program files\Warcraft3\

start applying ptaches. they should be patched now. and u need to apply patches from your last patch. 1.20e cant go directly to 1.22 unless you have universal patch. if you have the regular smaller patches u have to update them in order...1.20e>>1.21a>>1.21b>>1.22.
for playing on b.net need orignal cdkey. or play on garena. garena is good so dont worry.
for those who want to play in different rooms using different versions, like 1.22 in europe and 1.20 in asia, go download warcraft version switcher. allows you to store and switch between different versions of w3.

That's not an error, is simply that you are trying to apply 121b-to-122a but you have 121a. So it's simple, apply first 121a-to-121b and then 121b-to-122a.

Is there any reason why the server i played on last night wouldnt work today due to my version 1.22 update.
I am from south Africa so I really enjoying playing on the WAR3_ZA server but i get an unable to connect error.
you should add the gateway WAR3_ZA into bnetgateway file. add the server. and the game choose WAR3_ZA server. default kalimdor server
I Have but it still doesnt work,
The strange thing is if I start up the old version of War3 then I can log into the server.
I am not using a CD, will that make a diference as I had an ACID patch for my older version.
